Regrets, we all have them
and we all carry the guilt
usually, I find,
that the problem that
started the regret,
happened inadvertantly
It's worse when something
small, that started
quite by accident,
Suddenly gains momentum
and turns into a disaster

Regrets, caused by anger
are worse
We know that our anger
got the problem started
and you can't stop the problem
when you are no longer angry
Guilt weighs heavier on you,
you know this was your fault
even if you didn't mean
for the outcome to be
what it is

Mean spirited people
who cause trouble
just because they can
usually have no conscience
therefore, they have no Regrets
they have no guilt
They don't beat themselves
because they have ruined
someone's life or family
Then they go on their
merry way, not ever bothered
by what they have done

I don't know about you
but I think I'll keep
my Regrets, my guilt
It proves I do have a conscience
and a heart.
